CAS International
CAS International (Comité Anti Stierenvechten) is the biggest organization in the world which works exclusively on the abolition of bullfighting and cruel fiestas (festivals) during which bulls and other animals are tortured. Together with our colleague organizations, we want to end this animal abuse as soon as possible.

Bullfighting
Bullfighting is one of the most cruel forms of animal abuse. Every year, more than 250,000 bulls and cows are tortured and killed worldwide during bullfights and similar events.
Also during fiestas ('village festivals'), tens of thousands of bulls and other animals are severely maltreated.

On this page, you can watch several videos of demonstrations against the suffering of bulls and horses during bullfights and cruel fiestas. CAS International participated in these demonstrations (sometimes as co-organizer, sometimes only as a participant), just as many other anti-bullfighting organizations.
Demonstration against bullfighting in Sevilla, April 2009
On April 25th 2009, our Spanish colleague CACMA and the political party The Greens of Andalusia (Los Verdes de Andalucía) organized a big demonstration against bullfighting in the Spanish city of Sevilla:
Demonstration against EU-subsidies for bullfighting, October 2008
On October 9th 2009, CAS International (Comité Anti Stierenvechten) organized a 'banderilla-demo' in front of the European Parliament in Brussels, together with animal protection organization PETA. With this demonstrations, we wanted to draw attention to the European subsidies which the bullfighting industry receive every year.
Demonstration against the suffering of bulls in Pamplona, July 2008

With this demonstrations, we drew attention to the bull suffering that takes place during the annual Running of the Bulls and bullfights during the San Fermin festival in Pamplona. Demonstration Tordesillas, September 2007
On September 9th 2007, CAS International and the Spanish political party PACMA organized a demonstration against the torture of bulls in Tordesillas (Spain), during the cruel fiesta Toro de la Vega. During this fiesta, a bull is chased and stabbed to dead by many men on foot and on horse with long lances.
Demonstration in Lisbon, May 2007
In May 2007, our Portuguese colleague organization ANIMAL organized an international demonstration against bullfighting in Lisbon, in combination with our Intercontinental Summit in the same city. 24 anti-bullfighting organizations from Europe and Latin America were present, such as CAS International.

CAS International has made a list of tips for tourists, so you can also help us abolish bullfighting and other cruel events with bulls and other animals as a tourist.
The main tip: never go to a bullfight or a cruel fiesta, like the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona!
