CAS International
CAS International (Comité Anti Stierenvechten) is the biggest organization in the world which works exclusively on the abolition of bullfighting and cruel fiestas (festivals) during which bulls and other animals are tortured. Together with our colleague organizations, we want to end this animal abuse as soon as possible.

Bullfighting
Bullfighting is one of the most cruel forms of animal abuse. Every year, more than 250,000 bulls and cows are tortured and killed worldwide during bullfights and similar events.
Also during fiestas ('village festivals'), tens of thousands of bulls and other animals are severely maltreated.

School children and students
Many school pupils and students give talks on bullfighting and cruel fiestas at their schools, or write essays about it. They want inform their classmates how bulls and horses are severely tortured during these events. They ask them to refrain from going to bullfights, so that this cruelty to bulls and horses will end as soon as possible.
Although most people are against bullfighting (also in the bullfighting countries), some people are unfortunately still aficionados of these cruel events. Also, many people still don't know what happens with bulls and horses during bullfights. They think only one bullfighter waves a red cloth around while the bull is not injured, so they don't understand why bullfighting is considered as cruel.
Many tourists who visit a bullfight are shocked by the horrible sight of bulls and horses suffering in the bullring. Bulls are stabbed with lances, barbed spears, swords and daggers, and horses also suffer. These tourists regret ever going to see a bullfight and supporting the bullfighting industry with their money. That is why we think it is very important to inform them about the cruelty of bullfighting beforehand. We need students and other people to help us accomplish this.
With the support of our sympathizers, we (CAS International) can make sure that even more people stay away from bullfighting. When tourists stay away from bullfighting and cruel fiestas, these cruelties will come to an end much sooner. It is especially important to inform children and adolescents about what happens during bullfights, so that they can pass this information on to their family and friends. When they are older, they themselves will not go to bullfights and other cruel 'festivals' where bulls and other animals are abused. We believe there are many other events tourists can attend during their holidays, without animals getting hurt.
Of course you can find a lot of information about our work and about the worldwide suffering of bulls and horses on this website (attention, some photos and videos might be shocking), but we can also send you more information, such as our photo leaflet, stickers and/or other information. Please contact us for more information.

Tips for tourists
CAS International has made a list of tips for tourists, so you can also help us abolish bullfighting and other cruel events with bulls and other animals as a tourist.
The main tip: never go to a bullfight or a cruel fiesta, like the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona!
