Our director, Maite van Gerwen, was one of the speakers. She shared insights on the new EU legislation for the welfare of dogs and cats and explained how these rules could bring significant improvements for hunting dogs.
Other speakers shared their perspectives on the new EU rules and highlighted the challenges faced by Spanish shelters as they work on the ground to help these animals.
EU Event
The event was organized by The Left in the European Parliament and hosted by MEPs Sebastian Everding and Anja Hazekamp. On behalf of CAS International, we sincerely thank Sebastian and Anja for making this crucial event possible, which highlighted the urgent need to protect Spanish hunting dogs.
As long as Spain continues to exclude hunting dogs from basic protection, it remains essential to keep raising awareness about their situation, both in Spain and across the rest of Europe.
